About the Digital Edition

Foreign Relations of the United States, 1977-1980, Volume XXVII, Western Europe is part of a subseries of the Foreign Relations series that documents the foreign policy decision making of the administration of President Jimmy Carter. This web page explains the current status of the volume’s digital edition.

To provide timely access to the volume’s documents, the Office of the Historian will publish chapters as they are cleared. To date, the following chapters have been published:

The volume’s landing page provides a complete list of its front matter and chapters, even those not yet published. When readers access portions of the volume that have not yet been published, they will encounter a note explaining this and linking to this page for further details.

Some front matter sections will be updated with each chapter. For example, Sources presents a list of the sources from the chapters that have been published.

The chapters and sections that have been published can be searched and viewed online and downloaded as ebooks and as TEI XML.

When the remainder of the volume is cleared for publication, a volume-length PDF will be released.

This page will be updated to note significant additions to the volume.
