TEHE 756. Re: DIR 16355.2 Some difference of opinion exists among Iranian officials on best timing for Shah’s return and we think this question best resolved without our involvement particularly since direct communications between Shah and his people now easy. Therefore tell Shah all news most encouraging and we understand his govt in touch with him directly.3
