Editorial Note

On April 14, 1949, at the second part of the third regular session of the General Assembly, the Assembly approved Resolution 267 [Page 311] (III) regarding the problem of voting in the Security Council (for text, see United Nations, Official Records of the General Assembly, Third Session, Part II, Resolutions, page 7). The resolution was based on a draft prepared in November 1948 by the General Assembly’s Ad Hoc Political Committee. For text of this draft, which substantively is the same as that of the resolution as finally adopted, see Foreign Relations, 1948, volume I, page 261.
