Rumor discussed locally that Consulate Dairen may close as result closing Vladivostok post. This speculation stems from alleged Nanking Central News broadcasts at 2100 and 2300 hours August 27 reporting Secretary of State news conference that date.

It appreciated if Embassy verify whether broadcasts mentioned this office.⁶
