The Chargé in Haiti (McBride) to the Secretary of State

Port-au-Prince, October 3, 1947.

Sir: With reference to Embassy’s telegram number 368 of September 30 and previous correspondence28 regarding the termination of the Financial Agreement between the Governments of the United States and Haiti, signed on September 13, 1941,29 I have the honor to transmit herewith a copy of the Note which was left with the Minister of Foreign Affairs on October 1, formally stating that the Government [Page 733] of the United States considered the agreement automatically to have ceased to have effect.30
