Dear Mr. Ambassador: I am enclosing two copies of the Department’s press release of last night setting forth the exchange of correspondence with the Haitian Good Will Mission.18 As you are aware, release of this correspondence was suggested by the Haitian Government to the American Embassy at Port-au-Prince and this Government was pleased to give publicity to these documents simultaneously with their release in Haiti.

- The press release consisted of a statement by the Department, printed in Department of State Bulletin, April 6, 1947, p. 634, together with the exchange of correspondence comprising 26 pages of notes and memoranda.
