The Acting Secretary of State to the Ambassador in Ecuador (Scotten)

The Acting Secretary of State transmits for the confidential information and files of the Embassy copies of a note of even date to the Ecuadoran Embassy in Washington and of Statement LL–8,53 showing charges made against the Government of Ecuador during the period from December 1, 1945 through February 28, 1946 for defense matériel transferred to Ecuador under the terms of the Lend-Lease Agreement signed on April 6, 1942.54
It will be noted that the amount of charges during the period under reference is $12,960.66, and that charges through February 28, 1946 aggregate the grand total of $6,009,326.08. The balance of reimbursement now due on account from Ecuador is $3,000.
