456. Minister of Information H. C. Liang informed foreign correspondents at press conference March 8 that while date of trip to Yenan had not yet been set they would probably leave “within a month.” Liang stated correspondents would proceed from Chungking to Sian, thence to Yenan and Ninghsia and added, in reply to question, itinerary might include Chinghai but not Sinkiang. At press conference previous week, Liang said trip would last 5 or 6 months.
