Your Delegate on Sugar Council has had several informal discussions with British officials regarding subject your 2331, March 25 and has been advised informally, but subject to confirmation later this week, that British Government is prepared to see the Agreement extended in present form for 1 year without prejudice to future action.
Department’s attention is called to fact that “proposal” referred to in final paragraph of reference telegram was never communicated formally or informally by British and has therefore not been discussed with them.
