The Agent General for India (Trevelyan) to the Secretary of State
F. 118/44
The Agent General for India presents his compliments to the Secretary of State and has the honour to refer to his Aide-Mémoire dated June 21, 194440 on the subject of exploratory discussions on post-war civil aviation with representatives of the Government of India. The invitation of the United States Government was communicated to the Government of India who have informed the Agent General of their acceptance of it. Although August 1 is not inconvenient, they would prefer that the talks should begin on August 15, if this date is equally convenient to the United States Government. The Agent General understands that August 15th is suitable to the United States Government and has informed the Government of India accordingly.
