My despatch no. 11857, July 5, 1943 and 11837, July 2, 1943.61 The continuing heavy sinkings off the Brazilian Coast (yesterday four ships were hit by torpedoes and one rammed) are creating dismay here. The presence of at least six enemy submarines near this coast has been ascertained.
