The Ambassador in Argentina (Armour) to the Secretary of State
[Received 3:58 p.m.]
1402. Reference telegrams numbers 1387, June 21, 4 p.m. and 1401, June 23, 1 p.m.9 The statements by Ramírez10 and Storni11 are further indication of Argentine Government’s desire to dispel suspicions and strengthen friendly relations with neighboring countries, particularly Brazil. Foreign Minister told me yesterday that these references to particular ties with Brazil and other neighboring countries were in no wise to be considered as impairing basic concept of American solidarity, repeating his own strong convictions on this point.
Repeated to Rio.
