941. At the request of BEW representative Fowler instructions were sent to the Consulate General at Kunming on June 11 to turn over to BEW representative Polin18 all work being done on behalf of the BEW Defense Supplies, Metals Reserve or the United States Commercial Company.
Mr. Carey, the temporary employee engaged by the Embassy on behalf of Metals Reserve to supervise the sampling of wolfram ore and the weighing of tin, has been informed that he will hereafter receive his orders through Mr. Polin.
[Page 656]The Embassy has commended the Consulate General on the capable manner in which it performed its temporary functions with regard to the procurement and transshipment of strategic material.
