The Ambassador in Brazil (Caffery) to the Secretary of State
No. 9548
Rio de
Janeiro, December 23, 1942.
Sir: Referring to previous reports of the setting up in Rio de Janeiro of the Joint Brazil–United States Military Mixed Commission, I have the honor to report that Aranha asked me this morning if our representatives are here in Rio, adding that the Brazilian Government is now ready to set up the Commission. He said that he will notify me in a few days and we can have some sort of informal ceremony in his office to get things going.83
Respectfully yours,
Jefferson
Caffery
