1139. Aranha says that the Director of Posts and Telegraph has ascertained that certain Axis agents here are carrying on secret communications with Axis agents in Argentina and that he is taking steps to check communications. He said that the Brazilian Government would cut the Italcable (Italian Government owned) between Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, because the Brazilian Government suspects that the company is cooperating with the agents in transmitting clandestine messages.
