236. Department’s circular telegram December 7th, 4 p.m. I spoke with the President of the Republic,47 who had of course heard the news by radio. He asked me to assure you that the Dominican Republic is our ally both in word and deed and that we may count on its complete cooperation. He added that his Government will take any and all measures that we desire.
He added that the Dominican Congress has been convened for tonight at 9 p.m. to take appropriate decisions on cooperation with us.
