Detailed information regarding the continued intensive military action in Crete is not available here and although there is no inclination to minimize the gravity of the situation there the fact that the position is still being held is regarded at the moment as grounds for some confidence in British circles here. Serious British naval losses are admitted but German reenforcements by sea are said to have been so far impeded.
