My 422, May 6, 7 p.m. It has been learned from a confidential source that General Cunningham58 has now been authorized by London to approach the French authorities at Djibouti with a view to ascertaining what concessions they would be prepared to make in respect of the use of harbor, railway and other facilities at that [Page 589] port. No information is as yet available regarding the progress of such negotiations.
