57. From an unimpeachable source I am advised that Germany has decided that no acceptable peace terms can be expected from France and Great Britain and is therefore determined to bring off large-scale military offensive. My informant states he has no information of approximate date but Belgian Ambassador48a in Berlin states order has gone forth to prepare German hospitals for reception of large number of casualties to be expected.
