639. Department is advised that Swedish M/S Korsholm, also Estonian SS Minna and Norwegian SS Brott,92 each with a cargo of wood pulp or wood pulp products, consigned to various concerns in the United States, have been detained at Swinemünde, Kiel, and Sivinemünde, respectively.
In the general interest of American commerce, ascertain the reasons for such detentions and what action German authorities contemplate taking with reference to the cargoes.
