Your 169, March 7, 6 p.m.27 Bracken, editor of Financial News, London, makes statement that Sir Walter Layton28 who has just returned from the United States, asserts you are seriously perturbed as to the possible course of the current Federation of British Industries–Reichsgruppe Industrie trade negotiations.

Wallace, representative of Chase Bank here, tells Oliver Stanley29 that Aldridge30 reports you as approving these negotiations. Stanley and Board of Trade concerned about these contrary reports. Although information as to actual results achieved to date is not yet available, I would appreciate receiving some definite statement to give Stanley.
