325. Immediately upon receipt of the President’s message I called upon Count Ciano40 and requested an audience with the King who is now near Turin in northern Italy. Ciano consulted with Mussolini over the telephone and subsequently arranged an audience for 2:00 p.m. tomorrow. Consequently I am leaving this evening on the 11:00 o’clock train for Turin.
