- Please report date of Lamont’s memorandum and the date on which it was given to the Embassy. Does the phrase in the memorandum “Thursday morning next” mean May 6 or May 13?

- You may inform Lamont that, favoring the principle of cooperation, the Department feels that exploration of possibilities of its practical application along the lines and under the circumstances outlined in Lamont’s memorandum may serve a useful purpose.
