335. Reference Department’s 250, August 20, 6 p.m.,14 regarding accommodation for British refugees at Manila. Department has received an aide-mémoire from the British Embassy which states in substance that His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom desire to assure the United States Government that funds will be made available for expenses that may be incurred in the Philippines as a result of the reception there of British refugees.
