There was a very friendly private discussion of some outstanding questions involved in the matter of relations between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The conversation was entirely preliminary and detailed proposals were not discussed The conversations will be resumed in the office of the Secretary of State this afternoon at four o’clock.26
