259. Your telegram No. 262, December 11, 9 p.m.83 In view of the resignation of the Cabinet, I shall await appointment of new Foreign Minister before taking any action unless otherwise instructed. I have just been informed that Inukai, President of the Seiyukai, has been summoned to the Imperial Palace at 8 o’clock tonight. Unquestionably he will be asked to form a new cabinet. As yet there are no reliable indications of its composition.
