258. Pan American Airways Incorporated is planning to extend its air mail service now operating between Miami, Florida, and San Juan, Porto Rico, through the Leeward and Windward Islands to Trinidad. Please request the French Government to grant necessary permission for operation in and over Martinique and Guadeloupe and to authorize the local Postal Administration in those islands to accept American air mail delivered by Pan American Airways, [Page 577] pending a formal agreement to cover the company’s operations and the exchange of air mail there.
