The Secretary of State to the Chargé in Guatemala (Hawks)
19. The Department is informed that George L. Rihl, President of the Compañia Mexicana de Aviacion will be in Guatemala within a few days to negotiate with the Government of Guatemala in the interests of Pan American Airways, Incorporated, having for that purpose been made a Vice President of that company, which itself or through subsidiaries now holds six foreign air mail contracts with the United States Post Office, namely, Miami to Habana, Nassau, Porto Rico and the Canal Zone respectively, also Brownsville to Mexico City and Canal Zone to Santiago. Please render appropriate assistance.
