Mr. Chargé d’Affaires: I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your communication dated July 30, 1927,36 informing the Government [Page 159] of Liberia that, the President and the Secretary of State of the United States, having been advised that suitable provision has been made for the extinguishment of the 1912 loan, take pleasure in assuming the functions assigned to them under the terms of the Loan Agreement of September 1, 1926.

Replying to the penultimate paragraph of your communication,37 I have the honour to say that the President’s designation of Mr. Sidney de la Rue to the President of Liberia for appointment as Financial Adviser to the Republic of Liberia, is agreeable and acceptable to the Liberian Government.
