The Chief of the Division of Mexican Affairs, Department of State (Hanna) to the Secretary of State

[Washington,] May 26, 1922.

Dear Mr. Secretary: Mr. Branch, a local representative of the Mexican Petroleum Company, called yesterday and told me that he had just received a telegram from the private secretary of Mr. de la Huerta saying that the latter would be in New York on June 2. He added that Mr. Lamont’s office in New York had received a similar telegram direct from Mr. de la Huerta.41
