The Secretary of State to the Minister in Panama ( Price)
Sir: The Department has received your No. 1660 of the 9th ultimo,2 in which you advise the Department that the National Assembly of Panama, after receiving the message of the President of the Republic advising the Assembly of the various steps taken by him in proclaiming a state of war and pledging cooperation with the United States, unanimously passed a resolution approving his action. You report that the bill was submitted by you before it [Page 381] was passed to the Military Commander of the Canal Zone, the Judge Advocate of his Staff, and Judge Frank Feuille, Special Attorney for the Canal.
Your despatch has been read with interest, and your action in the matter is approved.
