Sir: I have to acknowledge the receipt of your No. 361, of the 22d ultimo, informing me of the notice given you by His Majesty’s Government [Page 747] that it accepts the award of the Italian minister in the Masonic case, and will make payment as agreed.

Yon will please make a responsive declaration on the part of the United States, accepting the said award as final.
