Sir: I have the pleasure to say to you that the legislature of Liberia has adopted a resolution as to the prospective settlement of the claim of the United States Government for ordnance, &c.
The following resolution, passed by the legislature of 1879–’80, was approved January 17, 1880:
Upon the settlement of the postal claim against this republic, the whole of the one-tenth of the revenue or moneys accruing therefrom shall be paid in regular quarterly installments to the United States minister resident, on account of the United States claims before mentioned; any laws or parts of laws to the contrary notwithstanding.
