Sir: I have to acknowledge the receipt of your dispatch No. 93 of the 4th ultimo, communicating the request of the committee of the International Fishery Exhibition at Berlin, for the appointment of one or two persons experienced in fishery matters as members of an international jury which will be charged with reporting on the exhibits and awarding the prizes.
In reply I have to inform you that this Department has decided to designate Deputy Commissioner George Brown Goode and Mr. Fred. [Page 423] Mather, of his staff, to serve in the capacity indicated, and you will accordingly notify the proper authorities of the exhibition to that effect, and also inform the gentlemen just named of their designation.
