Sir: I have the honor to acknowledg the receipt of the note which you addressed to me on the 8th of July instant, with its accompaniment, a copy of the imperial manifesto of Austria on the subject of the war between that state and Prussia, and of a correspondence relating to the same subject.

Those very interesting papers have been laid before the President of the United States, who has been pleased to say that they will receive his considerate examination.
