Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch of the 8th of September, No. 780, which is accompanied by a copy of a correspondence between yourself and Earl Russell in regard to the capture of the Georgia, and in which his lordship desires that the case may be brought before a prize court [Page 310] for adjudication as soon as possible. In reply, I have to inform you that the proceedings in the case will be regular, and attended by no unnecessary delay.
