My Lord: I have the honor to acquaint you that the United States attorney at New York has been directed to forward to their destination the mails which were found on board the captured British steamer Peterhoff. The principle involved in this measure will form the subject of an instruction which will be addressed by this deparment to Mr. Adams, at London.
