The government of Trinidad and Tobago passed a Freedom of Information Act in 1999 that went into effect in 2001. Members of the public may apply for access to government documents older than 10 years.

Researchers should write to the FOI Unit of the Ministry of Public Administration and Information to request access to Foreign Ministry documents.
