Legislation

The Archives Law (1955) regulates the Israeli State Archives, which is part of the Prime Minister's Office. Documents of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs are transferred to the Israel State Archives and are closed for 25 years. After declassification they are open to the public.

Researchers should either call +972 2 568 0662, fax +972 2 568 0670 or e-mail research@archives.gov.il before arriving. There are finding aids, most of which are computerized. There is no fee.
