The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with all other government departments and agencies turns its documents over to the State Archives before the material is 30 years old. Requests to view documents within the last 30 years may apply to see them under the Access to Public Administration Files Act.

Procedures

Researchers are advised to contact the Archives prior to their visit. Most of the records of recent date, i.e. after 1848, are kept at remote storage in Glostrup. Retrieval time from remote storage is 2 weekdays. Contact information is available on the website.
