No. 1405
The Ambassador in France (Caffery) to the Acting Secretary of State

restricted
us urgent—niact

4769. Bidault requested Bogomolov, Duff Cooper and myself to call this evening. He delivered to us six identical notes containing the views of the French Govt on the decisions made at Potsdam. The French Govt accepts in each case the decisions but formulates various [Page 1551] “reservations”, “regrets” and “observations”. (My 4722, Aug 6, 4 p.m.1)

The texts of these six notes are being cabled in my six immediately following telegrams.
