Peterborough, May 2, 1865

The Improvement Commissioners of the city of Peterboro’, in the county of Northampton, Old England, being the local authority of the city, at their meeting held on the 2d day of May, 1865, unanimously passed the following resolution:

Resolved, That this meeting desires to express its grief and horror at the cruel assassination of President Lincoln, and the murderous attack upon Mr. Seward, and to convey to Mrs. Lincoln and the United States government an expression of profound sympathy.
