Resolution passed at a meeting held by the inhabitants of Kingston-upon-Hull.
At a meeting of the inhabitants of Kingston-upon-Hull, duly convened by the mayor, it was
- “Unanimously resolved, That the inhabitants of Kingston-upon-Hull, in public meeting assembled, desire to express the feelings of horror and indignation with which they heard of the assassination of the President of the United States, and the barbarous attempt on the life of the Secretary of State, and also their deep sympathy with the government and people of the United States, as well as with the widow and the family of the late President, at the great loss which they have sustained.
