3. Editorial Note

On July 17–18, 1964, the Australia-New Zealand-United States (ANZUS) Pact held its Council meetings in Washington. Secretary Rusk headed the United States delegation, Prime Minister Keith Holyoake headed the New Zealand delegation, and Foreign Minister Paul Hasluck headed the Australian delegation. Extensive notes of the sessions, prepared [Page 6] on August 20 by the Officer-in-Charge of Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Affairs Edward J. Thrasher and Thomas F. Conlon of the Office of Southwest Pacific Affairs, are in Department of State, Central Files, DEF 4 ANZUS.
