PE–22. Editorial Note

By an exchange of notes at Washington on June 15, 1959, Peru and the United States concluded an agreement for a five-year renewable loan of a dry dock to Peru. The agreement provided that Peru assume the costs of the transfer of the dry dock and make available the dry dock and its naval yard to naval vessels of the United States and of Latin American nations that had concluded military assistance agreements with the United States. For the text of the agreement, see 10 UST 1053. Documentation on its negotiation is in Department of State files 723.5-MSP and 723.5621.
