Termination of Mission: Left post on February 19, 1957- Commissioned to the Federal Republic of Germany. The Embassy in Germany had been reestablished May 5, 1955, with Ambassador-designate Conant (who had been serving as High Commissioner) in charge except for a brief temporary absence pending confirmation of his nomination, commission, and presentation of his letter of credence.
