Procedures
The location of Foreign Affairs documents depends on the time period. Documents from post-1990 are found at the State Modern Archives. Documents from the Soviet period are found at the Central State Archives and documents from prior to 1918 are found at the State Historical Archives. Researchers may contact the relevant archive ahead of time or visit the reading room with a picture I.D.
