World Wide Diplomatic Archives Index: Cambodia

Legislation

The National Archives of Cambodia, with the support of the French, Swiss and Australian Embassies, has since the mid-1990s been working to organize its documents and make them accessible to the public. The process is by no means complete so researchers should contact the Archives directly to see what is available for viewing.

Location

National Archives of Cambodia, P.O. Box 1109, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Procedures

Researchers must obtain permission from the Archives Director by providing a letter of introduction. The Secretary of State at the Council of Ministers is the only one who can give permission to view documents from the Pol Pot era. Foreigners must pay a monthly fee to use the Archives.
